Hubspot Flourish Banner v2

Stand Up, Shout Out winners

The most recent winners in Samaritans Stand Up, Shout Out recognition program have been announced.

Our April winner is Rebecca Panjer. Since joining the team at Killara Supported Independent Living (SIL), Rebecca has flourished. She is constantly looking for positives and is able to bring out the best in the people she supports. They are always kept busy, whether it’s through baking, doing arts and crafts, or laughing along with her.

During her time at Killara, Rebecca has organised events with other services. One of the most recent events was a ‘Make Your Own Burger Day’, which saw people attend from nearby Jilliby SIL.

When Rebecca is on shift, she is great at finding activities for the people who live at Killara to engage in.

A People We Support (PWS) recently made a Mother’s Day card. The feedback from his mum was fantastic; she was overwhelmed. Rebecca is also supporting another PWS to build a garden to commemorate her mum, who passed away a couple of years ago. Seeing how eager Rebecca is to bring smiles to the faces of those who live at Killara is inspiring.

The May winner is Loree Sonter. Loree’s dedication to providing the PWS with voice, choice and control is outstanding. She is also a dedicated team member with loads of knowledge and experience, and knows how to provide fun and support where it is needed. Loree is always willing to go the extra distance and has an endless supply of energy.

Thank you Loree for all that you do, you are an asset to us all.
