Helping young people reach their full potential
Communication disability affects people across the lifespan, and can range in level of limitation from mild to profound.
Speech Pathology Week (20-26 August) raises awareness about those in our community who have a communication disability and highlights the role speech and language pathologists play in supporting affected people and their network across the lifespan.
Our speech and language pathologists in Samaritans Therapy and Behaviour Support (TaBS) team provide assessment and intervention services for children and young people and address areas such as understanding language, expressing language (through verbal or other means) speech clarity, social skills and literacy skills.
They work closely with the young person and their support network to achieve their communication goals to enable them to reach their full potential.

If you or someone you know has a communication disability or difficulty, the Communication Hub website provides resources for people with communication disabilities and those supporting them.
