The benefits of salary packaging

Benefits available to you

As a worker of a Public Benevolent Institution, you can enjoy extra benefits of salary packaging that many other employees across Corporate, Education and Government departments are not entitled to.

Salary Packaging

Salary packaging is an employee benefit that lets you pay for a range of living day expenses with your pre-tax salary each fortnight, potentially helping you to pay less tax.

As a healthcare worker you can package up to $15,900 from the 1 April to 31 March every Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) year.

This means you can put $15,900 in tax-free dollars towards costs that you’d ordinarily incur, such as groceries, utility bills, mortgage or rent repayments. Sign up now.

Save even more

You can also enjoy Maxxia’s Meal Entertainment benefit, which allows you to package up to $2,650 across dining out for breakfast, lunch and dinner or choose to package holiday accommodation within Australia or even overseas each FBT year.

Novated Leasing

Also known as salary packaging a car, novated leasing is potentially a tax-effective and budget-convenient way to get into and run your next set of wheels and can be accessed in addition to the above two benefits.

Novated leases are available for new, used and even existing vehicles and allow you to bundle not only your lease payments but your car’s running costs in one convenient regular payment, including:

Additionally, if you have been thinking about making the switch to an EV vehicle, you can now save even more with the new EV discount scheme offered by the Australian Government. Learn more here.

Transition to Maxxia

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback over the last few weeks during our transition to Maxxia. We understand that some employees may have recently experienced delays in getting through to Maxxia or getting a response to their enquiries.

Maxxia, like many other businesses, has had difficulty recruiting staff. This has put additional pressure on their existing team and led to extended response times, despite their best and dedicated efforts.

We’d like to take this opportunity to apologise on behalf of Maxxia and reassure you that fixing these issues is their number one priority.

We also strongly recommend if you are a casual employee that you call Maxxia directly if you wish to sign up. Casual employees can salary package a percentage of their wages and the Maxxia team can talk you through your options.

The overall response to the transition has been positive and we look forward to increasing our participation rates over the coming weeks.

If you have any questions relating to salary packaging, please feel free to contact Maxxia on 1300 123 123 or a member of our Payroll team.
