The dinner offered an opportunity for all women of faith to come together to form friendships under the theme: How important is spirituality and equality to humanity?
Apart from this event, Auntie Di also recently travelled to Sydney to attend the launch of a book titled In Her Voice: Raising Women’s Voices in Preaching the Gospel.
Women featured in the book, which includes Auntie Di and her daughter, come from across Australia – from different generations, backgrounds, and even Christian denominations.
What they share is a knowledge and love of the gospel, and a spirit-given desire to preach.
Several of our people also attended a luncheon, which was hosted by the Lake Macquarie Women in Business Network.
Former Detective Superintendent Deborah Wallace – the keynote speaker – commanded a range of specialist crime squads during her 36 years with the NSW Police Force.
Det Supt Wallace retired in 2019 after bringing order to the ‘wild west’ of 1990s Cabramatta and bustling criminal biking gangs with Strike Force Raptor.
Our Communications Manager Kate Haberfield was also a guest speaker at the event, alongside Newcastle Knights NRLW star Hannah Southwell.
Kate was joined by colleagues Haley Tibbetts, Lisa Donkin and Donna Kennedy.
